View Full Version : High Arches vs Low Arches - Whichever the most ticklish?

So guys, this question emerged while swapping posts on another thread with Cosquillero.

He claimed high arched women had more ticklish feet than low, flat footed women.

I can't really make up my mind - and scientific research doesn't help either.

This is therefore my poll for you: whichever are the most ticklish, arch-wise?
And where, I might add, since we presumed ticklishness on sole...?

Just drop me a twoliner so we can have a statistic basis! :)

Let's put it this way: Not all tall people are good basketball players and there are some short guys in the NBA that are spectacular!

I believe that females with normal arch are generally ticklish, meanwhile low or flat not. Just my opinion.

Good point, Tkpro!

Also, to future voters: please try and keep apart your personal tastes from real experience. :D

While many like high arches, this is really a question on ticklishness, not on shape. :) :) :)

Tnx for voting!

What stupid things could i write again ? :)
A question of ticklishness it is indeed.
You can also find non-ticklish woman with high arched feet and ticklish ones with low arches/flat feet !! It depends of luck it seems.
If really the sole is not ticklish and as toes are part of the feet ( since a long time now  ) why not tickling them toe ? ( yeah too of course ) ;)

I'd think the same: it depends on luck.
But as it seems, ppl have found high arches to be more ticklish than low ones.

Poll says so: 11 against 1 - in this moment.

Still, I suspect many ppl actually tickled more high arches than low arches - for a matter of tastes.

Since they liked high arches, they tickled high arches.
Still, 16 voters isn't enough. :D

So, please vote guys! :D

Concidering that it's a question of nerve endings being closer to the surface of the skin, you might as well ask, who's more ticklish: women who drink apple juice, or women who drink orange juice.

Just Concidering that, shape of feet could affect answer of nerve system. maybe affect distribution of nerve endings.

This is quite possible, but I think there must be another subtler explanation.

Maybe women with natural high arches get their feet cared for more often, they cherish the attentions, and let ppl fondle their feet more easily.

Problem is we don't really know how much they are ticklish. Maybe they are just mildly ticklish, but they react more than women with unkept or ugly feet.

Women with ugly or unkept feet might not let ppl tickle them - and even when tickled, unless unbearably ticklish, they will suppress the ticklish response to avoid further tickling.

Tickling is not only physical - it doesn't require social interaction, yet social relationships might modify it.
After all tickling is a body feeling like pain or hunger. Ppl might suppress it if they need to.

Only way to really know is to register brain activity...
But... hey, that's too much! :D :D :D

I have had flat feet since birth (some people develop it over time...not me!)...however, I do not believe that it hinders my ticklishness at all...I'd say my feet are probably one of the most ticklish spots on my body! Go ahead...try out a girl with flat feet...I promise, if she's ticklish at all, you won't be let down!!!! ;)

Problem is: your feet might be your most ticklish spot - yet, on an absolute scale, some claim, they would be only mildly ticklish, since in their experience, flat feet are less ticklish than high arched.

I'm just curious about the matter. :)
So don't count me in this reckoning.

I would have to tickle at camel26 to know how many ticklish she's. To me really ticklish girls yet laugh after many time of to be tickled (after 1 hour or more), with real laugh, not faked. Until present, i've tickled about of 200 women, aprox. 40-50% of them flat feet, no real reactions (some only fakings, but after very intense session of feet tickling, no reaction). Meanwhile, in another hand, normal arches women tickled in same way, somes include crying, aftte of that marathon of feet tickle.

At the present moment, we got 29 votes.

Over 58% voted for higher arches.
Less than a third voted for "depends/varies".
Two ppl voted for lower arches, and one actually voted for "Never tried". Maybe a lurker in the real world too! :)

Alas, not so many, and I'm sure there are many more out there!

Congrats on cosquillero for his feet tickling feat! :)
200 different women is not something to be taken lightly - yet they are not enough for our poll!

We need much more! :) :) :)
So, please vote and just tell us your personal experiences! :D

I don't think it has any affect on how ticklish they are. But I definitely like the look of those high arches in nylons and heels.

Well, well!

Now we got 40 voters! 11 more than last time I checked!

And while still dominant, the share of ppl who voted for high arches is decreasing.

A little more than half of you voted for higher arches; around a third - again, no changes in shares - voted for "depends".

And a couple more ppl actually voted for lower arches.

One more unlucky fellow admitted never trying, ever - and all our sympathies go for him! :)

As always tnx for voting, guys! :)

i got no idea which is more perferable but i tihnk it has to do with the overall tickle of the victim. i heave read somepeople like caeml26 are extremely ticklish while others claim to not be ticklish on feet at all. i guess it depends on the person and how much lauhging gas or alcohol is in there hot ticklish body at the time.

I really should look at profiles or do a little homework before I post messages  I graduated from PITT, but that was a long time ago in a galaxay far, far, away.......Dan Marino was only a sophomore! Is Peter's still there or is it a Starbucks now?

Can you drink coffee and get tickled at the same time? Wait - that could get messy......

Peters is still here...however, CJ Barney's is about to become some 18 and over place...kinda lame...I'm about to graduate from Pitt and I LOVE my Panthers...I'm thinking of making the burgh my hometown...at least for a while after I get out...and I would imagine that yes, drinking coffee and being tickled could be messy...make sure the coffee isn't too hot before you begin tickling!!! See you at the O sometime!!

The O is a little too greasy for me  Maybe I could buy you a mocha decaff sometime ;)

No offense, but I think you're making a good life move in staying here instead of going back to Philly. It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

I love Philly, do not get me wrong...but there's just something so warm about this city (despite it's present resemblance to the Arctic Tundra) that gives it almost southern charm and hospitality. The people are so friendly, and it's truly a beautiful city. All of my friends are here, and my bro goes to school at pitt as well...if only mom and dad were 200 miles closer...philly is 300 miles away, and I miss them, but I don't want them nextdoor...and if you're ever in Oakland, a mocha decaff at Kiva Han or someplace less corporate than starbucks would be fabulous!!! You're right, the O is a place you can only go after you're inebriated...oh, dear Pittsburgh, how I love thee!! Yay for PA lers and Lees...there seems to be a whole lot of us in this state...interesting...;)

I really dont think that the state of the arch would have anything at all to do with ticklishness. It appears that in general people prefer women with high arches. Unfortunately (as anyone who's seen my pictures can tell) I have always had very low arches. Though not flat per se they definately dont have a lot of dimention to them. So, sorry guys :)
But truthfully I dont think it matters a bt.

Well, I've had the good luck to have been tickling a variety of women over the last 29 of my 37 years...and in my experiences I've found the women with high arches to be more ticklish, not to mention, more attractive to tickle. LOL
I've had tickling in every relationship I've had with females. My ex was one of those with low arches, and wasn't very ticklish there at all. It wasn't a good situation since feet are one of my fav targets. My current girlfriend, who's into tickling, and I'm marrying this spring, has very high arches, and is very ticklish indeed.
I believe that many of the most ticklish areas on the body are ticklish because of the lack of contact they get in everyday life. Since the lower arched feet get more contact through walking, they may become a little desensitized. It also goes along with a post earlier about flat footed gals having ticklish toes. It's what doesn't get that regular contact that is more likely to be ticklish in my experience. It's just my theory.

Kalamos

It would be a sound theory.

Yet studies showed it isn't completely right: Dr Insabato mentioned small children who go around barefooted - and yet are very ticklish despite this fact.

And besides, if it was true, men - not being used to high heels - should be less ticklish.

At any rate, tnx for your post! :)

Keep the votes coming, guys!
53 users voted, and 29 of them were for high arches!
22 weren't - and actually 2 haven't even tried tickling ever!

Vote, vote, vote, vote, ppl! :) :) :)

erikasknight
01-28-2004, 11:32 AM
Ah yes...but this still doesn't subscribe to the areas that are ticklish. the arch in high arched people never touches the ground. So really it makes no difference whether or not people walked around barefoot. It's how much actual contact the area gets. When walking on a beach and looking at th footprints....does one ever see an arch in the imprint?
Also....all those that tickle flat feet....tickle the tops and see what reaction you get.
I'm no scientist...but the evidence is there.
~erikasknight

Kalamos
01-28-2004, 03:14 PM
Dr Insabato suggested lack of contact doesn't explain ticklishness.

For instance: some ppl are ticklish on their palms - and yet they use their hands everyday.

So, as it seems, lack of callouses or continuous usage, don't fully influence ticklishness of a given area.

It would go against common knowledge - but actually ticklishness is not ONE feeling, but actually three.

That's why ppl can be ticklish even if they got rough skin.

well my friend, i think that it's time to close this poll, because it's freeze since many time ago. 63 votes is all what we got. 54 % tell high arches, only 11 % believe that flat feet are really ticklish, 32 % tell that depends of each person. Maybe somebody vote just now or maybe not.

I quite agree here...that it doesn't matter. I voted 'depends on the individual'. I think that it all has to do what appeals to a person. My first wife had high arches and was very ticklish (she wasn't into it). My second wife had low arches and was very ticklish (she liked it). I based my vote from personal experience.

*looks at her feet thoughtfully..* Well I have flat feet but they're terribly ticklish.. marching band taught me to walk on the ball of my foot, not supporting my weight on the entire area from toes to heel. My heels and non-existant arches are very ticklish, but the ball of my foot is a bit less so, the skin is a little tougher there and not quite as responsive as, say, the stems of my kind of lengthy toes. I don't have pink little stubs, I have long, wiggly toes, but not like 3-jointed monkey feet long.. I have a friend with toes that have 3 knuckles and god she's fun to torment.

From my experience, I havn't found that arches make much of a difference. I do believe that people who sit around a lot and people who are active have a difference, so I might go with the contact theory. I do say though, I like high arches and flat equally, the tickling is all that matters ;)

FIXLUNGS

It depends on the individual. While I love high arches, I have been very dissapointed in the past and found that many are not at all ticklish. In my experience which is great, I find that when you tickle someones feet and they have the reaction of bending their toes and cant help it, they have been the most ticklish feet that I have come across.
