Sadly I don't have the technical nuse to piece broken clips together. Someone did try to explain once, and gave me a blinding headache that didn't go for three weeks. Guess I'll just have to go without. :(

Too complicated for me to understand. I probably just have a blackspot when it comes to teccie shit. I don't understand all this pdf, png, ram, rar and txt bollocks and I really can't be bothered learning. I'll just have to stick to downloading clips from Realmedia and Windows media sources.

thanx Cos :)

BigJim that's for you : easy
- download all files ( probably done )
- rename them all to .zip
- extract to same folder ( don't ask why :D )
- open hacha ( it's in the last file )
- click on the right button : open the folder you extracted the files
- it asks for a "file con hacha *.0 " and there should be only one like that showing ( in rose )
- select it and click on the left hacha button
- it redoes the clip
Good luck - tell me if it works cause it should if you follow steps
hope you don't get a headache:D

Yes, that sounds typical of those bastards at hacha.

You really did check that graphical help, is pretty easy. "One image says anymore than 1000 words (Confucio)".

You lost me there, man.
Isn't a dustbin supposed to be round? You got squarish dustbins in UK?
That's totally groovy.

Er... nevermind. :D

Well alf, i got that clip but divided in several parts (6 or 8, i don't remember now) so many time ago. You know than i prefer big clips over tiny/small. Nice clip, all action joined in an only one clip, perfect to me !!, thanks you very much for sharing !!! ;):happy::happy::happy::happy:.

Er... nevermind. :D

No, they're as round as your average trashcan.

Now imagine you're standing in something round and are told to pee in the corner...

Wouldn't you be confused?

No. I would be rather pissed off if somebody bothered me while having a piss...

Me having a piss, not him having a piss at me... Oh, nevermind.

Besides, why would one pop out of nowhere and tell you where and when to piss?

That is feed for thought, and john for piss.

Yeah, I followed those instructions to the letter, I don't know, I moved them all to another folder, I renamed them zips, I didn't see anything with a rose or anything, argh! hacha!

I have a suspect here: why most people say they "rename the files to zips"?

You just have to create a folder [basic Windows managing 101 :) ], download all the files into it, extract all the contents in the same folder, and look for a file called hacha.exe.

Execute it, click on rightmost button: pegar [join]. Accept standard options. Let it work for the [short] time it takes, and you should have your re-joined file.

No renaming work is involved - and once again I wonder: why Alf mentioned renaming the splits to zip? Aren't they zip-compressed already? No renaming should be necessary. Just download and extract.

If you have a problem, jot down the extracted files' names and size [to a byte] and post them - part of the trick is extracting them right: Hacha can't rejoin broken splits.

Oh...

Spiffing. :weird:

Indeed! :D

Hi Kalamos, i believe that alf says rename files because his pc/Os have a bit trouble about of downloading files, maybe is his browser (he hasn't iexplorer, but mozilla). The rest of users with pc/windows don't need to do that, just a simple download like any other.

But I am using Mozilla too. That's why I find it strange that Alf needed to rename the files. :)

[Maybe he is using an older version of Mozilla, not fully compatible with this site...]

A couple of people reported they had troubles after renaming - and maybe this explains their problems: they tampered with the extensions, and messed the files up.

Just a thought. :)

Maybe this situation of rename files can to confuse some persons, my advise is don't do that at least than your OS/Browser has the same trouble like alf. If your downloads come up fine (i mean that your OS acknows the kind of files), then don't rename any of them.

-> cosquillero

Now I think of it... BEFORE server migration, I had problems with filenames too.

Under Mozilla, filenames containing spaces ended up truncated: example, "tickling - italian whatever.zip" when saved would show up as "tickling.zip".
It was even worse with media files, since it wouldn't recognize formats, and would save everything with realmedia extension - unless I manually typed in the correct name.

This is the only thing I can think of; I'd suggest Alf to update Mozilla to a newer version; Firefox 9 works fine most of the times. :)

Oh... and leave the extensions alone, guys... :D

Actually sometimes I renamed files splitted with Hacha adding ".zip" at the end, because this site only allows uploading of certain file extensions, like zip, rar, and so on. I could have zipped one by one each files, but it would have taken a lot of time and would have been of no practical use, since the dimension would have been practically the same.

Hi there, T.

I've done something similar myself - but used Txt for the extension since ascii text format is rather harmless; problem is when people rename hacha splits without zipping them somehow: people try to open them as per renamed extension, end up mucking the splits and get upset.

I'm in accord with you, but due to past experiences i've seen that many users don't know to delete extensions of known types, although that have been said so many times in differents threads, is for that reason than zip each part generated by hacha.
